Ideal for versatile wear. * GENUINE LEATHER * ZIP CLOSURE Kenneth Cole\'s men\'s boot history began with the company\'s 1982 founding, when struggling shoe designer Kenneth Cole launched his business by creatively selling shoes from a truck in New York City. This \"urban hustle\" and focus on street fashion style led to the brand\'s initial success and its growth into a major fashion house known for both style and social awareness. Today, the Kenneth Cole men\'s boot line is part of the company\'s broader footwear offerings, under labels such as Kenneth Cole New York and Kenneth Cole Reaction, with a recent partnership with Marc Fisher Footwear for a new collection. Early Days The company was founded in September 1982 with an unconventional and resourceful approach. The Trailer Stunt: Unable to afford a showroom at the New York Shoe Expo, Kenneth Cole borrowed a 40-foot trailer and parked it across the street from the Hilton hotel where the event was held. \"Kenneth Cole Productions\": He learned that parking permits were only issued to utility companies or film production companies. That day, he changed the company name from Kenneth Cole Inc. to Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc., and applied for a permit to film a full-length movie titled The Birth of a Shoe Company. Initial Success: Over two and a half days, he sold 40,000 pairs of women\'s shoes from the trailer, launching the company with a reputation for ingenuity.
