This unique yellow straw tilt hat consists of a small tubular crown surrounded by a wider brim at the front. The brim is slightly upturned at the front, then fully turned up at the back. There is an extension portion of straw at the back, which helps keep it in a tilted position. A thin navy velour band surrounds the crown. Matching navy velour bows are attached on both sides of the brim, from where a full, intact navy veil is attached. This hat is absolutely gorgeous, and it has been one of our collection\'s fines finds. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these.
